Jacob 9 Months

Well, the 8th month flew by fast, and before I know it, Jacob will be learning to blow out one candle! He has changed so much this past month. He is fun, and active, and the second love of my life. Ben and I sat down last night and made a list of the things that Jacob has been up to. This is what we came up with:

Little Jacob is now standing up on everything. He loves to stand up on the TV stand and watch the TV up close (but mommy moves him away!). He also stands up in his crib and jumps up and down when mom or dad opens the door, eager for attention. (And eager to get out of his crib.) He says "dada" or "dad" really well, and occasionally, and only in moments of stress, does he say "ma ma". It sounds a little more like "ama", but I love it anyway. He loves to crawl on the floor and get around the apartment. He likes to hold onto balls, or his little purple whale, whom we have named Moby. He loves to be entertained by mom. She dances around the apartment and he laughs at her. (Mostly because her hair is crazy and all over the place, or in his face and it tickles). Jacob is now sporting two baby teeth on the bottom. They aren't up all the way yet, but they will be soon.

As far as his diet, he is trying more finger foods. He loves feeding himself! He hasn't quite graduated to third foods because he doesn't like the texture, but he doesn't mind putting soft chunks of food in his mouth on his own. He loves to eat bananas! He has started on some formula. I am using it to supplement his diet. He is such a hungry baby that I can't keep up!

Some of his favorite things to do are: play with the knocker on the front door, push the buttons on the DVD player, climb on mom's legs when she is working in the kitchen, bang on the shiny trash can, open cupboard doors, stand on everything, grab mommy's cell phone, crawl to the edge of the bed and look down, wave hi to himself in the mirror, wave hi to strangers, go outside or on walks, play with door stoppers and put random objects into his mouth. It sure keeps me on my toes! He had his first encounter with a flight of stairs. With daddy's supervision, he climbed all the way to the top the first time! We were so proud of him!

Overall, he is doing well and is getting really big! He has his 9 month doctors visit on the 14th, and then I will know his official height and weight. We haven't taken pictures yet because we were so busy with the 4th. I will post them later.
